From Tantra to the Cosmos:

How Eastern Wisdom Deepened My Path

I wasn’t searching for Vedic Astrology when I found it. My journey began with Tantra—a practice that challenged me to explore the depths of my being, awaken my energy, and embrace life with presence and balance. Tantra was my doorway into Eastern philosophy, and as I delved deeper, I became captivated by the interconnectedness of all things. I wanted to know more, to understand the broader context of this wisdom that had begun transforming my life.

That search brought me to Vedic Astrology, and it was like seeing the universe for the first time with clear eyes. Compared to the Western Astrology I’d encountered before, Vedic Astrology felt deeper, more precise, and, most importantly, more relevant to my lived experiences.

Tantra: The Catalyst for Change

Tantra came to me during a time when I was questioning everything—my identity, my relationships, and my sense of purpose. Its teachings didn’t offer easy answers; instead, they invited me to step into the mystery, to trust my body’s wisdom, and to engage with life as a sacred experience. Tantra was a mirror, reflecting my inner world, and through its practices, I began to uncover parts of myself I’d long ignored or suppressed.

As I grew in my Tantric practice, I felt a pull to deepen my understanding of the philosophies that underpinned it. That’s when I began exploring Vedic Astrology—a system that seemed to complement and amplify everything I was learning through Tantra.

The Shift from Western to Eastern Perspectives

Like many people, my first exposure to astrology was through Western systems. While I found some insights there, it often felt too general, like a broad brushstroke that couldn’t capture the nuances of my inner landscape. Western Astrology places emphasis on the Sun sign, offering archetypes that sometimes felt disconnected from the complexity of who I am.

Vedic Astrology, on the other hand, turned the lens inward. It emphasized the Moon sign as a reflection of the mind and emotions, aligning with the Tantric principle of honoring the subtle, internal energies. Its focus on nakshatras—lunar constellations that describe personality and karmic tendencies—felt both profound and specific. Suddenly, I wasn’t just a “one-size-fits-all” archetype; I was a unique expression of cosmic energy, deeply influenced by the dance of planets and stars at the moment of my birth.

A New Way of Seeing

What struck me most was how Vedic Astrology didn’t just describe who I was; it explained why I was here. It illuminated my karmic patterns, my dharma (life purpose), and the challenges I was meant to transform into strengths. While Western Astrology often focuses on personality and potential, Vedic Astrology felt like a spiritual roadmap—a guide to navigating the terrain of my soul’s journey.

Through its lens, I could see how the practices of Tantra and the wisdom of the stars worked together. Tantra grounded me in the present moment, helping me embody my highest self, while Vedic Astrology gave me the context to understand my path and purpose.

What Lies Ahead

This year, I’m inviting you to walk this path with me. Each week, we’ll explore the rich interplay between Vedic Astrology and Tantra—how they complement each other, challenge us, and guide us toward a fuller expression of who we are. I’ll share my personal experiences, including the doubts, breakthroughs, and discoveries that continue to shape my journey.

As we begin, I encourage you to reflect on your own beliefs about astrology, spirituality, and self-discovery. What resonates with you? What feels out of alignment? Let’s step into this exploration together, with curiosity and openness, and see where the journey takes us.

Today’s Thought Exercises:

  1. Reflect on Your Connection to the Cosmos: Take a moment to consider your relationship with astrology. What have you believed or experienced so far? How do you feel about the idea that the universe influences your inner world?
  2. Explore the Unknown: Identify one area of your life where you feel stuck or uncertain. Imagine that there’s a map—like Vedic Astrology—waiting to guide you. What might you hope to discover on that map?
  3. Tune Into Your Subtle Energy: Spend 5-10 minutes in quiet meditation. Focus on your breath and bring your awareness to your heart center. Ask yourself: What wisdom is already within me, waiting to be uncovered?

Special Invitation: Each month, I’ll be hosting Full Moon and New Moon Ceremonies at my home, The Kundalini Kastle. These gatherings are a chance for our community to come together, learn, grow, and connect. Through a blend of Tantric Wisdom, Vedic Teachings, and modern practices, we’ll explore our shadows, embrace our strengths, release what no longer serves us, and invite in new energies.

This month I will be offering ceremonies on Monday January 13th via zoom (since I am out of town that week) and on Wednesday January 29th at the Kastle – details in the newsletter below.

I warmly invite you to join us on this journey of transformation. Let’s create sacred space together, deepen our understanding, and support one another as we align with the rhythms of the cosmos.
